Weather in Hong Kong: June

The weather in June is not just a continuation of the Hong Kong weather for May but it steps up.  It's even hotter, more rain than May and higher humidity. 

Temperature is ranging from 26C - 29C (78F - 84F) with 300mm rain in a month.  Humidity is over 80% on a sunny day and if it rains, it soars up to 100%.  My visitors from Europe often find it hot and uncomfortable.

The Dragon Boat festival which is held during May or June involves a lot of splashing of water and the occasional sunken boat, but nobody minds getting wet during this time as it is very warm.  An umbrella is good to have around no matter you want to get some shelter from the hot sun or stay dry in a rainy day.

By June the Typhoon Season has started, but overal there is still only a small chance of a visit being interrupted by a typhoon.
